Question 1 : What is SPOTGallery?

SPOTGallery is the Spot Image Internet boutique for satellite photos. These photos, taken by SPOT satellites, are chosen for their beauty, originality, newsworthiness, renown etc. They have been processed by Spot Image and saved in a Jpeg format, ready for use.

Question 2 : Who is SPOTGallery for?
SPOTGallery is for the general public, which means that the satellite photos sold on the site are intended for private use (the ‘home and family' market) as mentioned in the user licence. A special distribution licence is available on demand, for using photos in illustrative or published media, or in an advertising context. For more information on reproduction rights, please read our conditions of use.

Question 4 : Where do these photos come from?
They come from the SPOT 5 Earth observation satellite and were taken between 2002 and 2007. For more information on satellite imagery, click on "how satellite imagery works".
Question 5 : Can I order a catalogue?
The catalogue containing the images for sale is only available online, in the SPOTGallery. No printed catalogue is available.
Question 6 : How do I order or buy a photo?
Information on the product ordering process is available in the "online help" section of the website.
Question 7 : I don't want to order online, can I order by post or by telephone?
For the moment it is not possible to order by post or by telephone. If you have difficulty submitting your order, you can contact us via the "technical assistance" link.
Question 8 : How can I subscribe or cancel my subscription to the newsletter ?
You can subscribe to our newsletter during the ordering process, by ticking the box for "I would like to receive information on Spot Image's offers for the professional user" or "I would like to receive information on Spot Image's offers for the general public".
To subscribe without placing an order, simply write to us via the "technical assistance" link, stating that you would like to subscribe to the SPOTGallery newsletter.To cancel your subscription to the newsletter, just send us an e-mail via the "technical assistance" link.
Question 9 : I have forgotten my password, how do I retrieve it?
If you have forgotten your password, just click on "forgotten your password?" and enter your e-mail address. You will then receive a message with your new password.
Question 10 : What happens if my Internet connection fails during downloading?
If the download is interrupted, you can download your chosen product again (subject to identification, and with a maximum of three attempts), by clicking on the "my account" tab of the website, then on "history" and finally on "order information". If you continue to have problems contact our Technical Assistance department.
Question 11 : How can I use special offer tokens and reductions?

The special offer code entitles you to a reduction when ordering from the site. After selecting your images from our boutique, just click on Order and you will land directly on the 'Payment Information' page. You will then be able to type in the special offer code in a field labelled 'Reduction tokens'. The value of the reduction will be subtracted from the final cost of your purchase.

Question 12 : I would like to send a poster as a present. Will the recipient see the price? Can I add a greeting?

The delivery note accompanying the package contains no information about the price.

We do not currently offer greetings cards, fancy wrapping or message notes for either the package or the accompanying delivery note, but e-cards can be sent free of charge. Just select the image on our Web site and click on the Send to a friend link in the list on the right of the screen. You can use this free service to tell your recipient that the present is on its way.

Question 13 : What should I do if there is a problem with my order?
We recommend that you contact our Customer Assistance department before returning your order.
Question 14 : Do prices include VAT?
Prices are given on our Web site inclusive of VAT. VAT applies to items sold within the European Union. Orders from outside the European Union may be subject to local taxes, import taxes or Customs duty. Since Customs policy differs from country to country, Spot Image cannot accept responsibility for charges levied in other countries. For further information, we recommend you contact your own Customs service.
